Until now that’s been almost impossible to find online.
As a drop-shipper in the online auto parts industry, you have three major things you need to think about: parts data - data format - and parts suppliers. The question is, how do you weave all three together in a way that's error-free and utterly seamless for your customers?
Parts Data
What goes into your store? We load everything that you need to sell parts online - part numbers, shipping dimensions, marketing information, titles, descriptions, weights, images, categories, and of course, fitment - year, make, model, sub-model, engine, bed length, and other options . We can connect your store to a wide range of parts catalogs - ASAP, SEMA, DCi, PartsHub, Opticat and others. We can even load up data from Excel files. This is helpful for smaller brands that don't publish their data through these systems.
Some stores need more than just year, make, model, and sub-model. We can also handle wheel fitment, tonneau cover fitment, engine specifications and other details that typically come from ACES data files.
Perhaps the most important consideration is how to price your products. The simplest approach is to use the MSRP (Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price). But you can also choose to add a margin, category and/or tiered margin, price decorations (all prices are .95, .99, etc.). No matter which pricing strategy you choose we will make sure that you do not list below the MAP pricing provided in your data feed. It is important to get this right as your store can get flagged or even receive 'do not sell' notices from manufacturers if the prices are incorrect.
Data Formats
Data Here-to-There uses XML and CSV files defined by the "gold standard" Auto Care Association. Our customers mainly use the PIES, ACES, and PCDB standards. These standards contain fitment details, image references, and product meta-data. We are registered with AutoCare and use their standards consistently. Data Here-to-There helps you make sense of these standards, and channel all this parts data seamlessly into your store.
Wholesale Distributors and Suppliers
We can connect your store to any supplier that has a data feed or an API. This includes Keystone, Premier, Hanson Distributing Company, NPW, Motor State, LKQ, Parts Hub, Turn 14 Distribution and TransAmerican (see a more comprehensive list of suppliers we connect to here). Your supplier data feed is where we obtain both the stock information and wholesale prices. We can even tailor your store so that the supplier with the lowest price or best location for a particular item automatically does the fulfillment or, by merging these two types of data, we can also do Order Automation for you.
Order Automation
Orders can be sent back from each sales channel to your supplier. This saves the manual effort of copying the buyer's address and details into the supplier's order system. Tracking data is sent back to the sales channel so that the buyer is kept informed of the delivery status. We map shipping methods between the sales channel and the supplier. We also update order status in the store to indicate that the order has been fulfilled.

FITMENT: Getting the make, model and year right.. right into your store for your customers to find
People who are buying automotive parts are looking for fitment - make, model and year - so it’s vital for your store to provide this information accurately. We provide accurate fitment details to you so you don't have to worry about the reliability of the data in your auto parts store. Some of the data integration services out there will try to tell you that you have to use their platform in order to get proper fitment data, but it's not true. We can work with almost any platform, from WooCommerce to Amazon and Shopify. Others may tell you that you can’t use Shopify for a fitment search, for example, but we are agnostic.
We can automatically update stock, add or remove parts to and from your store based on brand and fitment. We can even enhance your descriptions, optimize the images for SEO, add shipping comments, and customize the data to suit the requirements of your customers and store.
If you are using multiple suppliers we can pool the inventory for common parts. This shows the full stock for all suppliers without creating multiple copies of the product in your store.
So, what are you waiting for? Contact us today to discuss how we can help you boost your auto parts store - or marketplace - to the next level!
